Read the following instructions carefully before proceeding to fill the application form.
1. After successful completion of Registration, you will receive an email message giving an activation link to proceed to fill the on-line application form, please check your Spam/Promotional/Update folder for email.
2. Qualification: For Indore, Kolkata and Mumbai Centre:
M.Sc. degree (2021 or after) in Physics with a minimum of 60% overall marks (55% for reserved and women candidates) and must have either
a. Qualified Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST-2024 rank within 300) and/or
b. Valid CSIR-UGC NET and/or
c. DST-Inspire Fellowship (Ph.D.) and/or
d. Valid GATE score in Physics
For Kalpakkam Centre:
Physical Sciences :
M.Sc. degree (2021 or after) in Physics with a minimum of 60% overall marks (55% for reserved and women candidates) and must have either
a) Valid CSIR-UGC NET and/or
b) Qualified Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST-2024 rank within 300) and/or
c) DST-Inspire Fellowship (Ph.D.)
3. We welcome applications from less-represented sections of the society and women candidates in our institute.
4. Selection process: The selection of the students for the Ph.D. programme will be a two-step process: Screening of the applications, followed by an interview of the short-listed candidates by the Selection Committees.
5. The short-listed candidates shall be called for online interview to be conducted tentatively in the month of May 2024.
6. The applicant must indicate the preference of CSR Centres option in the application form. The selected students will be distributed to different centers, depending on the option of the students and vacancies.

8. The selected students would be registered for Ph.D. with Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore (for Indore Centre), Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU, for Mumbai Centre), University of Calcutta or Jadavpur University (for Kolkata Centre), and University of Madras (for Kalpakkam Centre).
9. For JEST / CSIR-UGC NET, etc; score/ rank along with roll number/ registration number is mandatory.
10. Uploading of passport size photograph is compulsory and it may be uploaded in .jpg format (permissible file size is up to 200 kB).
11. Uploading of signature is compulsory and it may be uploaded in .jpg format (permissible file size is up to 50 kB).
12. Copies of all the certificates/Marksheets including JEST/ CSIR-UGC NET/DST, etc. score card must be uploaded in PDF format (permissible file size is up to 500 kB).
13. Before finalizing the submission, please verify all the details carefully.
14. All the submitted details would be verified at the time of joining for the selected candidates.
15. Registration will start online from 3rd April, 2024.
16. Last date for online submission is 24th April, 2024 17:30 hrs.
17. Incomplete applications wouldn't be considered.
18. The exact date & time of interview will be intimated to the respective candidates along with other details.
